Fact-Checking Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
FairwayAuthority is committed to publishing accurate, verifiable information. This policy explains how we verify facts before they appear on the site.
Primary sources first
We cite the original source for every statistic, rule or technical claim — the USGA and R&A for rules, the PGA Tour and DataGolf for performance statistics, peer-reviewed journals for biomechanics and fitness claims.
Expert review
Every instructional article is reviewed by a credentialed instructor. Fitness articles are reviewed by a TPI-certified trainer. Rules explainers are cross-checked against the most recent edition of the Rules of Golf.
Equipment claims
Performance claims about clubs and balls are based on our own testing on a Foresight GCQuad launch monitor with multiple testers across multiple sessions, not on manufacturer marketing.
Corrections process
If a reader, source or expert flags an error, we re-verify the claim within 48 business hours. Confirmed errors are corrected with a visible correction note appended to the article and the "Last updated" date refreshed.
